Over a year after the BFF character was revealed at the Central Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, rumors started to swirl that KAWS would be releasing a 13-inch vinyl edition of the much loved character. Sure enough, this BFF Vinyl Open Edition in Black released in October, 2017. This black version was available exclusively through KAWSONE, and features and all-black body with a contrasting pink nose and white eyes. One of the larger vinyl editions that KAWS has released, this BFF makes a great display piece for any living space.

In December 2017, KAWS released a new version of his classic companion character, titled "Small Lie". The figure features the companion slumped over in what appears to be a disappointing stance, with a long nose that's reminiscent of Pinocchio. Unique from the Open Edition Companions, this figure included overalls on the character and did not come in flayed versions.

Released to commemorate KAWS' exhibition in Shanghai at the Yuz Museum, the Companion Flayed Open Edition in Blush is a new twist on a classic. Just months after the release of six different Open Edition Companions, KAWS dropped two Blush Companions of the same size (11 inches) on KAWSONE. As is typical with all of these collectibles, they sold out quickly as fans raced to grab them. This particular version features a flayed design with shades of pink and red on both the interior and outside. The figure comes sealed in clear blister packaging, and is a must have for KAWS collectors and casual fans alike.
