Timo Sarpaneva

An internationally renowned force in Finnish design, Timo Sarpaneva (1926-2006) was a master of many materials. He was mesmerized by beauty and worshipped it. Sarpaneva’s rise towards the top of the design world began in the 1950s.

His works are exhibited in homes and museums around the world. Sarpaneva’s designs extend from utility glassware and art glass to textiles and graphics. He played an essential role at Iittala as he designed the “i” logo, which serves as the symbol of the company.
